BHSM is a fast-growing, full service corporate law firm with a strong depth of expertise. The Firm was founded in 2012 by Mark Homan, Brian Baily, Giles Smyth and Joe McVeigh. BHSM has grown to over 20 solicitors and almost 50 professional staff.
Recognising there existed a gap in the market for a premium, partner-led, and responsive offering, BHSM developed a strategy that places their clients at the core, and an ambition to consistently deliver for them. BHSM strongly believe that the Firm’s growth and success depends on the growth and success of their clients.

Mark Homan

Mark is Managing Partner of BHSM. He also heads up our Insolvency and Corporate Restructuring Department and leads a Team in our Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department. Mark specialises in advising Liquidators, Receivers, Examiners, Companies and lending institutions in all aspects of corporate restructuring and insolvency matters.
Mark also has considerable experience in Commercial Litigation, advising parties in commercial disputes across all jurisdictions and in cross border litigation. Mark advises in a wide range of commercial disputes, including shareholder disputes; contractual disputes; professional negligence actions; employment cases; landlord and tenant disputes; fraudulent and reckless trading cases and restriction and disqualification actions.
Mark Homan is a regular tutor and lecturer on the topic of Insolvency in the Law Society of Ireland and is a committee member in the RII (Restructuring & Insolvency Ireland) (Formerly ISIP). Mark sits on company boards, providing strategic advice.

Joe McVeigh

Joe McVeigh is the Head of the Corporate Department at BHSM. His areas of expertise include mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and the regulation of equity funds and investments.
Joe has advised both national and international companies across a wide range of industries with an emphasis on the pharmaceutical, healthcare, information technology and finance sectors. Joe has employed this experience to achieve strategic objectives for his clients.
As well as providing advice to businesses and individuals on contractual matters and transactions, Joe also advises on corporate governance issues to directors, shareholders and company boards.
His practical and incisive advice has been instrumental in assisting clients and their businesses through crisis situations and strategic commercial decisions.
